Sunbeams and Missionary Work

Lendl is finally a Sunbeam! He woke up very excited to go to Primary and told us "no more nursery". I have been the nursery leader for a year and a half and was released this past Sunday. I sent 14 of my nursery kids into Primary and it was such a sweet reward to see all of them progress and move to the next class. I am so grateful that I had the chance to be Lendls teacher and am excited for him to take part in Primary. He has a husband and wife team for his Sunbeam teachers and we could not be happier. Lendl was excited to be with his brother in Primary. However, Daniel moved into the CTR 7 class, which was combined with CTR 8 since they are both small classes, and so now Daniel is in the Sr. Primary. So much for them being together. Daniel is the only boy in his class of about 8 kids. About a month before Christmas, Daniel came to us and told us that he wanted to give his teacher a Book of Mormon. Naturally we supported him but also felt nervous that such a simple act of faith and missionary work could turn into unwanted or undeserved persecution. Thursday night before Christmas break, we prepared her gifts by placing them all in a bag and little Daniel went into the office, grabbed a Book of Mormon and wrote "To: Mrs Glaze from Daniel" on the inside. He placed the Book of Mormon inside the bag with her other gifts and Friday he gave her her presents. As I felt nervous for him all day, I was also so proud of him for his testimony, his faith, his example, and his willingness to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. He felt happy with his missionary experience and I can only pray that the fire that burns inside of him will be contagious to all of us. He has spoken of being a missionary for many years and even told a General Authority that came for our Stake Conference that he wanted to serve a mission in China. I love raising two boys that are part of Gods Army in the Latter Days.

What precious boys! They both have such sweet smiles. Way to go Daniel on being a good missionary. I am proud of you. Mom and Dad have much to be proud of with those two sweet spirits!

Love those pictures! Gabi was also excited to start Sunbeams - although concerned about the snack-issue.

On another note, I'm really going to miss working with you in Nursery. Although my stint was short-lived, it was so much fun getting to know you and meeting another animal-lover.

They just seem to get older when they get into Sunbeams...I can't believe your baby is there now!! YAY to Daniel for being such a brave missionary.

Tell Lendl he'll love sunbeams! I wish I could be his teacher. I've been one for two years and just moved up with CTR 5. It's a lot of fun Lendl although you do have to sit in your chair a bit more!!

We will be in town next weekend for my brother's wedding, so we will probably be at church! Tye is in Sunbeams, too, and loves it! What is it about "Primary" that makes them seem so grown up??
