My Soccer Star

Lendl is a pretty special boy. He not only is my favorite red headed 4 year old but he is such an amazing brother. He idolizes his big brother and never stops giving his younger brother unconditional love and attention. He has a heart of Gold. He has started soccer, no games yet just practice. I am really looking forward to seeing him blossom as an athlete and having the family give him that love and attention that he gives all of us. He is having fun and I can see that he is proud of himself when he is on the field. When we were buying shin guards, I was demonstrating how they will protect his shins. I put a shin guard on one of his legs and left the other bare and gave a gentle kick to show him how they feel different. In turn, he wanted me to feel the difference. Lets just say, where he kicked was pretty far from where his shin guard was. I love my mommy bruises. It should be a great soccer season.

Brigham is 8 months old.

This past month has been a fun month with Brigham. I thought he was really starting to move last month but this month has been all about movement. He has started to do an Army crawl and pulls himself up. He loves for me to take his hands and walk with him. He gets so tickled with himself that he giggles to the point of wobbly legs. He loves to have me sit right next to him on the floor and climb all over me. He started to clap and claps all the time now. My new challenge has been to really stay on top of the little things on the floor. When he sees something, no matter how big or small, his only focus is to get to it and put it in his mouth. He is at the stage where he gets shy and will bury his head in my chest. I love that! He had his first bike ride recently. We love to ride bikes as a family and I have been anxious for his to get on one. He loved it! He is such a great baby. He brings so much love and peace into our family. If times does not slow down, he will be 4 tomorrow and 8 next week.

Look who turned 8!

The last couple of weeks have been real eventful for little Daniel. The biggest highlight was turning the big 8. He has been looking forward to his birthday for weeks and when the day finally he arrived, he got sick. Nothing like waking up the morning of your big day and being ill. He missed almost a whole week of school. Staying home did have its advantages because he was able to play his new Nintendo DS and build his new LEGO sets. He is my gaming boy and loves to play but usually is not allowed to play Wii or Playstation on school days so getting his own DS and playing on school days, that was a present of itself. Since his birthday party will not be until April, we went to a local bakery to pick out a treat for him instead of me making a cake. Lets face it, I would have eaten most of it so I knew I better not make one. Daniel also reached WOLF rank in Cub Scouts. He loves being a scout and is looking forward to working toward his BEAR rank this next year. And the latest thing was losing two more teeth, one on top and one on the bottom. He is such a good boy and I am so lucky to be his mother.
