Brigham Cade (His First Week)

Brigham Cade was born on July 14, 2009. He weighed 8 lbs 13 oz and was 20 inches long. He is a joy to have in our home and is such a great blessing to our family. I feel in AWE of this beautiful gift and find myself emotional when I hold him. I am grateful that he has been entrusted to Daniel and I to raise. He is so beautiful, soft, happy...just perfect. My heart is full. He already shows a quiet and undisturbed dispostion as he doesn't seem phased with the chaos of two older brothers who let their presence known. Here are a few pictures of his first week with us.

Dr. Pieternelle is such a FABULOUS doctor. Having had a home birth in the past, I was dreading giving birth in the hospital but it was a beautiful experience and I am grateful to Dr. Pieternelle for letting our expereice be OUR experience!

Zaehringer Family Reunion

There is no better way to spend a July 4th weekend, than with family. Daniel is one of nine kids and within the 12 years of our marriage, the whole family has only been together once....until now. Several siblings still live in KY, as does his parents, but some travelled from Oregon, Alabama, and Washington D.C. Where did they all stay, right here in my humble abode. There were a total of 34 people here and though that may seem like a lot, I don't think any of us felt cramped. It was great to be with everyone and my boys loved having their aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents here for several days. We played games, had a talent show, went to the beach, ate, ate some more, and just visited with each other. It was fantastic! Between all of our cameras, there are at least 1000 pictures so I chose only to post some group ones. I love being part of the Zaehringer family and am grateful that we all made the effort to make this reunion happen. Daniels sister Sara was the Head of this whole thing so a special thanks goes out to her!!! Just a fun pose of all of the family.

Swim Lessons

This was Lendls first year in swim lessons. I was pretty nervous just dropping him off but he did great. After two weeks of swim lessons, he was swimming under water, without floaties! I am so proud of him. Of course, now he feels like a PRO swimmer and is fearLESS, which only makes me fearFUL. We swim a couple times a week with some friends and he is doing cannonballs, going down slides and wants to swim in the deep end. AYE AYE AYE. I am happy that he is enjoying the water.

Swim Lessons #2

I will admit, with two boys in swim lessons everyday for two weeks, at two different times, was very exhausting on me but very beneficial. I am glad that I did not use my pregnancy as an excuse not to put them in lessons this summer.

Little Daniel worked on diving and turning his head to breathe while he swims. He has always loved the water and swims well for his age. His swim teacher told me that he just might be ready to move from private lessons to a swim team. Way to go Daniel!
