FAMILY TIME

Daniels brother, Matt, and his family, came for a visit. We had a great time with them. Thanks Matt and Nancy for visiting. Here are some of our adventures:

SEAWOLF PARK

We took a tour of an old WWII submarine , the USS Cavalla, and an old WWII destroyer escort ship (one of only 3 in the world), the USS Stewart. They were hot inside but very interesting. I have no idea how anyone lives on a submarine. My hats off to them.

Wii TIME

Nothing like a few boxing matches on Wii. I think the kids enjoyed putting Matt and Nancys profile together the best. Matt was given hair, and Nancy was given, lets just say, very interesting facial features. We all had a good laugh!

COUSIN TIME

Besides staying up until midnight, they all played, wrestled, danced, cuddled, watched T.V., had army wars, played super heroes, etc. Its a "KIDS WORLD".

GALVESTON ISLAND

We had a great time at the beach. We had picture perfect weather and we all came home with some color on our skin. We saw dolphin on the ferry, jelly fish on the beach, tons of different birds like pelicans, cranes, seagulls, and we cannot tell you how many fish we felt swim all around us! The tide was perfect and the water temperature was refreshing.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY!

My three favorite boys! Daniel Jr. and Lendl adore their dad and want to be with him all the time. I just want to tell Daniel that I love him and am so grateful for all that he does for our family and for being such a great dad.

BLUEBERRIES

Today I took the boys to a blueberry farm with some friends. My friend Elizabeth's husband and Daniel are at scout camp this week, so we decided to keep busy together. It was such a beautiful morning (and by that I mean not only the weather but the fact that there were no mosquito's or bees). There are no pesticides on the bushes and you are encouraged to eat while you pick. That we did! Lendl, who LOVES blueberries, wasn't quite sure about eating them right off the bushes but once he realized that it was the same fruit that I buy at the store, there was no stopping him. He ate them by the hand fulls. Daniel on the other hand wanted to fill his bucket to make sure I would have enough to make blueberry jam. He was a great contributor. The kids were so into picking the BLUEberries that they would tell me every time they spotted a red one in my bucket. They would remind me that I need to pick only the BLUE ones. We have enjoyed munching on them all day and will probably be back for more.

Schools out!

I officially have a 1st grader! Today was Daniels last day of school and he is ready for summer. I think that Lendl will be happy to have brother home too. Here are some pictures from the school year.

Blogging

Okay, so I am giving "blogging" a go. I have no idea how it all works yet but I am sure I will have lots of fun figuring it out. Arien and Denielle, you might have more calls from me than you want, to answer all my questions. Just remember, it is your fault since you got me hooked reading your blogs.

Catching the Tooth Fairy

Little Daniel lost his first tooth. He had been working it loose for sometime and finally I pulled it. He was so excited and called several people to share the news. That night he went to bed with his tooth and a note to the tooth fairy clenched in his hand. He was bound and determined to "Catch the Tooth Fairy". We slowly worked each finger loose and left the room without being seen. When he woke up, he came running down the hall to show us the note the tooth fairy left him. Such simple pleasures in life. He has already moved on to his next tooth that is loose.
