CATCHING UP...

It has been awhile since I added some pictures. After several months of life, here is a quick overview...

A DAY AT THE BEACH

We needed a family day so we took one yesterday. The beach was not very crowded so it was perfect for the kids and dogs to run around. Here are a few pictures from our day.

Luna's first time at the beach. We actually had to get in the car to chase her down the beach as she went after seagulls. It was the leash for her after that. Chi Chi was in heaven, just swimming away.

MY EVER GROWING BELLY!

I am being forced by the man I love to include these pictures on the blog. He is so mean to me! I know this is the best photo EVER but Lendl loves to take pictures and it is a good one of my belly so...21 weeks

25 weeks

Roughly 29 weeks. For the record, I am not carrying twins.

LENDL

What can I say about my favorite 3, almost 4 year old! He is such a joy and happy boy. Here are a few pictures of him. Above, he is sporting daddy's hat while "helping" us in the yard. Fortunately, as we were bagging leaves, we found a lost Jedi before he got thrown away.
Lendl is always showing his rough, tough, boy side. I will admit, he is strong!
Nothing like a little chocolate cake. He has his mothers appetite. Who doesn't love food!

He also loves to snuggle. He will come up and lay down with me if I am resting and he thinks that my belly belongs to him. After all, it is HIS little brother in there.This is either a Jedi move or a Power Ranger move.

He is all boy....snakes and snails and puppy dog tails.

POW WOW

Little Daniel turned 7 in March. He has been fascinated with Native Americans for a long time and wanted his own "Indian" party. That put a little pressure on mom and dad but we made it happen. Daniel is so lucky that he has a dad with a great imagination and a way with kids. He had them sit around out makeshift fire and he told stories about Buffalo hunts and other traditions. The kids came up with their own name and one boy wanted to be called Pocahontas. That made the adults chuckle. Of course Daniel was the Indian chief and he loved his head dress. His Papaw made him a necklace and dance stick so he was really able to get into the part of chief.

This is Lendl's hunting face. Daniel had all the boys paint each others faces to get ready for the big hunt.
Daniel made some buffalo out of cardboard and the boys went on a buffalo hunt. Some were the buffalo, some were the hunters (we used water balloons), and then they switched places.

Daniels tee pee caught on fire, which only added "coolness" to the boys. Even with a few ashes, the cake was devoured by these hungry Braves!

I worked for many, many, many hours on Dream Catchers so each boy left with their own. Over all, the POW WOW was a success.

Tiger Cub Scouts

This is Daniel and his Den leader, Brett, at the Blue and Gold Banquet. Brett is a great leader and really made the first year of scouting a blast.

Fishing

We had a Pack 122 Fishing Day. Daniel was camping with the Young Men so I took the boys. It was a very pleasant day. Lendl loved his own little fishing pole. He was getting the hang of casting his line and reeling it in. Eventually the water won and there was nothing I could do keep him out. It made for a nice smelly ride home. Daniel had a great time. He managed to catch a fish but mostly he loved staying close to the edge to catch minnows.

This was the fish he caught which managed to get him the "smallest fish" trophy. His face, after catching the fish, was absolutely priceless.

Pinewood Derby

Daniel had his first Pinewood Derby this year. He had such a great time deciding on what to do for his car. This truly was his project. He did not have the fastest car, nor the slowest, but the judges liked his design and he won a 3rd place trophy for best design. To him, that was WAY better than having a fast car. There were about 30-40 cars in this years run. Here is a quick video of his car racing. Each car participated in four heats. His car is in lane two...the army car.

Southeast Texas State Fair

Who does not enjoy the Fair? The Southeast Texas Fair is small but nonetheless fun. It happened to be really cold that day so we did not stay as long as we wanted but we packed in all the fun while we were there: games, rides, animals, and food (all I cared about was getting a funnel cake).

There were zebra, yaks, llamas, tortoises, sheep, goats, deer, and much more. I am so glad that my boys have a true love for animals, just like their mom and dad. Lendl was finally big enough to ride some rides and he LOVED it!

Daniel is moving to the next level of rides. He had fun but there were a few times I worried about the aftermath.
