Little Daniel was one of four second graders chosen for the school spelling bee. As a second grader it is more for experience because you have to be in at least the third grade to move on to higher competitions. He went to school early a couple mornings each week for about 6 weeks to prepare for the school spelling bee. As the school kids started to file in, (keep in mind that he can be quite shy), I was so nervous for my son but proud of him that he was going to do it. He was already a winner even before it began. He made it through several rounds before misspelling "straightforward". I know...a hard word, right?! He did such a great job. Here are a few video clips of his spelling bee. I put several on so that daddy can see.

It is hard to believe that my sweet baby is already 6 months old. This baby blanket was made by one of my YW in Calgary. I thought it was so sweet.
