Growing up in a home with small dogs, I never saw myself getting a big dog. Shortly after little Daniel was born, my sweet childhood dog Princess died at the age of 17. She was a tiny little cockapoo. A few months later we ended up getting a Standard Poodle. To me she was quite a big dog but has proven to be a GREAT dog. She is patient and playful with the boys and really loves being part of the family. After Hurricane Ike, we knew there would be animals that needed a home and after some research, we adopted a Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix.
Her name is LUNA and she is literally is a gentle Giant of a doormat. In the first picture she is only 6.5 months old and a tad shorter than Chi Chi (the poodle) but weighing more. Boy has she grown in 3 months.
She is a fun and playful member of the family. Thinking back to my small dog days, life sure would be different if the boys could not wrestle, lay on , and snuggle right next to their dogs. I have grown to appreciate and love big dogs. More breaking news, we will have another new addition in July!

I'm glad you finally announced that you are having another baby! I'm so excited to be a grandma again. Take care of yourself. Luna looks precious. I can hardly wait to see her. Give the boys a hug for me. I know they are excited about the baby.

Congrats Girl on your new addition coming soon! Hope you are still feeling well and taking it easy. I can't believe Luna is so big. You are so brave to take her on right before a baby. It is good that she is pretty laid back. She is quite the pretty dog though. Take care and lets talk soon.
I am so thrilled to finally see the ellusive Luna. She is a beauty. It's funny because, judging by her features, her face is 100% Golden, but, her ears are Pyre, as is her chest and tail. Oh, and of course that thick white coat is all Pyrnees. What a beauty!
And, I must say that Chi-Chi is equally beautiful.
But, most importantly, congrats on the new edition! That is SO exciting. I'm thrilled for your family. You'll have to keep us posted on the pregnancy.

WOW what a beautiful dog! Her name fits her too! I remember how big Chi Chi was so she must be a good size. I am so not surprised that you have one more animal in your home. Kali and i were talking about you the other day and wondering about the cats!

I think you might have lost your mind... another baby and a dog at the same time! :)
You and I will be due the same month. It has been a sick season for me... hope it is going better for you. I go on Feb 17 to see if it is boy #4 or a girl. The boys are so excited and are anxious to find out the sex. This will also be my 3rd July baby. It is just too hot in July to be having a baby... ha! My new Dr said she is happy to induce me 2 wks early since I have monster babies. Yeah! Congrats and don't be a stranger (even though I moved... but not too far away). Let me know if you are heading to the Temple or the cannery... we are just on the way!

Wow! Congrats on your upcoming addition! Luna is a gorgeous dog. I worked on a similar dog for "Up" - that's about all I can say about it, but it made me want to get my own golden retriever.
